HP 10BII Calculator
The Hewlett-Packard HP 10BII Financial Calculator is one of the best and most handy instruments to have along side you if you are studying Finance or Statistics. Its uses certainly don’t stop there however. It can do a variety of complex mathematical tasks and it’s not big and bulky like a graphing calculator. The HP 10BII is actually similar in size to a Texas Instruments scientific calculator.
Even if you aren’t a Business Administration student majoring in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Statistics, Accounting, this wonderful little calculator is extremely useful to you as a consumer. You can easily use it to calculate mortgage payments, terms to maturity, interest rates, college fund savings, retirement planning, or your baseball batting average statistics. (I don’t care for baseball, but some people do!)
Take one of these babies with you to a car dealership and make sure those pesky salesmen are being honest and fair. You could literally save yourself significant amounts of money and make wiser investment decisions - and you don’t have to be a financial analyst to use this calculator for personal use.
You can currently purchase an HP 10BII Financial Calculator for approximately ~$30 to ~$40 USD. They are available at office supply stores, Wal-Mart, electronics stores, directly from HP or Amazon.com and other online stores. The newer versions of the HP 10BII look a little different than the version depicted below, but worry not, for it provides all of the same functionality and ease-of-use.
Hewlett Packard provides (primarily for Education purposes) a software emulator version of the HP 10BII which I offer as a download near the bottom of this page. As can be seen in the picture below, it is an identical representation of the actual calculator. It works just the same. However, there are indeed nuances with the HP 10BII Emulator. Worry not, for I will give attention to these nuances.
